Undying: crash crash crash

WinXP Pro, Radeon 8500 128mb, Ath 1.4ghz, 512mb PC100, Cyborg 8.1.

GPF's solid in Oneiros. Tried fiddling with graphic options, compatibility, patch, driver tweaks....Driving me bonkers here. Anyone seen this (yeah, old game, I know...)

what the H E double toothpicks were you trying to do to begin with, specifically the graphics drivers and card? any tweaking going on with the exception of the Omega thingies...

I have a DFI board with a wimpy 1.2 p3 and a 8500 128 and powerstrip cranking the latest omegas, seems fine, even in a supremo flight sim called IL2, now that challenges a system, seems to work fine for me, is this an XP problem? do you have the Via chipset blues?

nope, shut in, just a tweak monster with money to burn, heard that the DX 9.0 plus the Catalyst is a good start for the Radeon 8500 now that it is available, I like it, howerver, have you raised the FSB for the AGP card? can you start from scratch and rebuild an idean of what didn't work? I think Althons are jut groovy, but someone out there has had similiar problems with the 1.4 and Abit Mobos as well, I detect a weekness somewhere, what do you have, flat screen or box? and your refresh rate, praytell is it above the standard Bill Gates 60 hz?

Refresh rate? The game CTD's with a GPF....no, I haven't tweaked the AGP. It also crashes on regular Unreal - same engine, so I;m assuming it's a driver issue.

What's Centron? No, Mushkin PC133.

Abit KT7A blues? just heard a faint giggle from my posse, do you have the Hyperion 4in1 stuff from VIA? maybe that will help witht he interleaving that you have obviously enabled

hmmmmmmmmmmm, I wonder if Via's own GART download would help, and for the lack of anything else, perhaps the powersupply is overwhelmed?(doubt it), I know all my games run better onf force refresh (download at RAGE 3d) I push my old monitor past a tolerable level with it....hmmmm, are you running norton or a memory opitmizer program as well? and the HD, is it fast enough? my system likes my 7200 speed WD 80 gig with the 8mg cache, and your swap file? how big? does windows manage it?

sorry forgot to mention, try ATI's interation of the Catalyst driver set, then go from there. get DX 9.0, raise your refresh rate, reinstall the game, etc....never know till you try, and if all else fails, play crappy hunting games till you get bored, ha ha....just kidding
