If you haven't played FlatOut, you owe it to yourself to try it out. There is an amazing Demolition Derby multiplayer mode that's itchin' for some play. Add me to your xFire list and I'll try to round up some players if enough people are interested.

Here is the official game page and here is GameSpot's info on it.

The game doesn't have integrated online play (just LAN, which is why no one plays) so you have to download a third-party app that enables online play. Here it is.

There's also a small mod that allows for more camera view modes (it adds a few other things but I haven't fully tried it out yet. It can be found here.

So don't crap out on me and give it a try!

EDIT: There is a brand new FlatOutNetPro that includes a new LOBBY connection. This should help those of us who've been very frustrated trying to connect to servers and not being able to know the status of the in-progress game.

Dude! I just tried out the extra camera angles with that mod... The one that puts you inside the car so that you see your arms on the wheel makes me warm and fuzzy inside.

I had to uninstall and then reinstall my game.

One of these mods, or perhaps the wrong patch, broke my game and none of the Silver or Gold tracks would open. Also, only the top row of the Bonus tracks.

I'm back on track now and will see how far I can go before reinstalling a mod for online racing.

My son has been impressed enough (and I've talked it up so much!!!) that he bought two XBOX copies for the store where he manages. For those who've missed it, he manages a comic book and game store locally. He personally purchased (last year) 4 XBOXes, 4 27 inch Flat Screen TVs, and a few XBOX games. These are set up with 2 each facing opposite directions. He also got one of the first XBOX 360s that came out. ADDITIONALLY, the owner has an XBOX hooked up to a 62 inch HDTV (Toshiba) and my son has his XBOX 360 hooked up to it as well. ALL of these are interconnected for MP gaming.

He only got the FLATOUT games a few days ago and I've not been able to get up there to see how they look on XBOX. But, I'll be taking my own XBOX 360 USB controller up there and giving it a good workout very soon.

I found out that it's very difficult to set up to play online with people using different releases. There's a release for Europe and another release for U.S. Neither the twain will connect without a LOT of configuring/hacking.

I've started back on my 'career' and still am having a blast with this game. (Although I've taken time to play several 'episodes' of PIRATES! over the past few weeks.
