Well, I just finished the demo...
I have to say, I am extremely impressed with this game. I haven't got into an RTS since well, warcraft 2 probably. This game really redefines the genre. Great graphics, story, game play. I didn't know anything about this game untill I installed it, and I am glad I gave it a shot. I would probably describe it as Star Wars meets C & C (first one) meets Ogre Battle. The game is very polished, and you can tell it will be very deep. No annoying resource management, and building units and structures is done better than anything I have seen (its not difficult or annoying). I especially like the strategic part of it, very well done.

Other than Oblivion, there is nothing on the horizon that I anticipate more than this game now. Get the demo and give it a shot, especially if you were at the point of writing off RTS games.

It feels good to have that spark back for RTS's, hell, for games in general.

U forgot advanced warfighter.

Anyway, if you guys want the true old school RTS View I found out that scrolling the mouse wheel back for a little bit will show you like a top view of the entire map where you can still control you guys. Kinda reminded me of the commander mode from BF2.

I also love that cinematic camera that gives you a better feel for the fire fights.

The game really is quite amazing, and its only the demo. The cinematic view of the battle sequences is quite the nice touch (actually amazined I haven't seen something like that before). I'm saving my pennies and will hopefully be able to get this when it is released. First time in a long time that I have the feeling a game I will purchase is actually a completed product, that is what was promised. That says a lot, especially for a Star Wars game.

Yeah, I went into the first battle after the tutorial and I left some of my ships on the first planet because I didn't know if I was goin to be attacked. So I get there and I'm like my fleet is awsome. then I just run my guys toward the slightly large red dot. and find they have 2 of those huge ships plus an enormous space station that is spewing out Tie fighters like there is no tomorrow. Long story short only person who lived was Han and his millenium Falcon. So I restarted the game and bought 5x X-wing, 4x Y-wing, 2x Corillian Corvette, 2x Frigate and kinda stiffed a bit on troops. for my fleet as I could possible. Attacked the shield generators and the thrusters on the two main battle cruisers along with the hangar on the space station. So after disabling those I just set it in cinematic view and watched the rest. Then I went to the nest planet and could only land a small portion of my troops at first, so I waited for a while and decided where is would be the best way to go. Just about then I get attacked by AT-AT's and AT-ST from the desert while I'm tryin to learn how to use my artillery guys. I fend the first swarm off and get some reinforcements. Then about half my guys are gone and Han Solo died, while chevy laughed at his ass.

So anyway I bum rushed their shield generator with some rocket guys and tanks andwas able to take it down so I could do bombing runs and such. Man I thought I was a goner at the begining though, but at least I pulled it off whew.

Oops sorry for ruining the demo, but maybe you'll have etter luc kthan me.

Twas a good demo. I found it ok. Everything there had potential. Cinematic view was nice, but I found the camera to twitching way too much in space fights, but that can be fixed. They kinda separated the fighting and building aspects of an RTS, so it's like you always have that "x minute no-rush thing" going on. Would I buy it? Nah. Not my taste of RTS.

On the topic of RTS: Oh StarCraft 2... where are you?

I just completed the 5 part Tutorial and this game does look to very well designed.
