TimeShift Single Player Demo

It will be released in a couple of days and I thought It would be a good idea to provide the link for it.

I have been following a lot on this game and I pretty much jus twant to see if its anything different than we already have now.

Yeah, Im waiting sine this summer, when the announced it. It looks like a really good game. I cant wait to play the demo, I hope it will be good!

Well. its available. Dl speeds are god awful, so I would wait till some mirrors pop up. If anyone gets word of a mirror, let me know, and I'll post it to the front page. Thanks.

i'm getting 260kbs on avarage from fileshack.Screenshots look good,so i'm eager... (half an hour to go hopefully).

its pretty fast on Fileshack. Thats why I always use this site to download demos

15min to go, now at 260kb/s. More and more people are downloading it. Cool!

I'm glad I got mine in the beginning, I bet wait times are getting rediculous.

So, anyone give it a shot yet, how bout some impressions from you guys that aren't stuck at work.

Well I've played through it about 5 or 6 times now and I'm sure a lot of people won't like it. It sure looks like a console game.. huge crosshair, hud and 56 fov. Dispite that, I thought it was pretty cool and will be buying it when it hits because I'm a FPS junkie. The textures and effects are well done and very customizable in the video menu. (3 zones.. use the arrow keys to select more details)

Here's a tip.. rename the video folder in the main menu to bypass all the startup videos. Can't find the fov command in the .ini's though.. only debug mode.

The only complaint I have is that 50 fov. Sigh.. OH.. and the demo was EXTREAMLY short for 550MB.

Oh yeah.. there are physics and all that. Not as fancy as HL2 where everything is moveable.. but the enemies go down right. The flame thrower is mighty impressive with the heat blume showing.. the response to being on fire is classic. They try to pat themselves out.. scream it burns and sware a lot. There is a sniper rifle pick up behind a truck near the end of the demo. .(after guy on building uses rocket launcher) Hold the right button to zoom farther..

Not that bad. Its 5minutes long lollll, 2 the next time u play it lol... Thats bad for a 577Mo demo.

There was something on the Atari website that said a stutter is probably caused by problems with sound drivers. Seems to be a problem with many people... Half Life 2 all over again

if thats the case....you would think this may of been resolved on the release of the x-fi soundcards,as creative is the most common type used.

What is up with the dang controls when you press to go right or left it doesnt step to the right or left it turns like a dang console game. I liked the demo but the controls suck bad. I wont be buying it untill they fix the controls like they should be like for a FPS...............

HUH?.. seems to straff for me with no problem.. not turning the view instead.. check your controls maybe??

I'm getting the stutter pretty bad. It'll be okay and it's like it moves around 5 frames. Other wise a decent game, and the demo is really freaking short!

Did anyone else notice the environmental bumb mapping? its freakin amazing, I had never seen so much clean looking detail in a game before. Also like the puff of red when you continue to shoot one guy in the head until your time stop runs out : ).

what can people run it at? talking about allll settings and lowest fps and avg fps

people who dont wacth your fps dont post :P get a lot of people saying around 90 when they never ran anything like fraps on

anyone else fire the flame gun and the fps drops?

The demo runs like pure crap sometimes 5fps when the bomber goes overhead and for what? Console graphics on a pc game. You guys have ultra low standards if you'll buy the game after this 5 minutes of uninspired stuttering action.

Oh pleeease. Just because your rig can't play it doesn't mean others can't either. I was seeing perfectly fine, smooth framerate on my rig and even fine tuned the slight hitching caused by what some say, audio drivers. There are 3 different menus for video tweaking in the demo.. maybe you can explore those to smooth yours out.

I LIKE first person shooters.. that's my favorite genre, and not every single one has to be HL2 or UNREAL standards. Compared to some of the low ,low crap out (ie Will Rock, Chaser, Judge Dredd, Mortyr..etc) this demo makes the game look promising. Other then the hud being too console like (which you can TURN OFF if you don't like!) and the FOV being too close, I don't see anything wrong with this game. I think 'people' get too hypercritical sometimes..
