Day of Defeat - Free Weekend

Well, it's that time. 60 hours of free preview of the game without having to purchase it.

So, why can't I get it to start?

EDIT: Nevermind. I just had to reboot the computer and reconnect.

So far, I'm seeing FPS of over 100.

EDIT 2: If anyone's interested, look for Dyre's DH Server. Password is DH Rules!

EDIT 3: Server is down until later tonight (Saturday) Have to go to work now.

I would , but I tried that game when I got cs:s bundle, and bugger me, I couldn't stay alive for more than 5 seconds at a time

i like the 'old' dod better.. somehow the feelings dead with source.. the feel i have with all the weapons just isnt there, i had the same 'problem' with counterstrike source, the feeling isnt there anymore, the recoil i had under control with every weapon.. i knew exactly what and how...
with source; somehow the lowered the recoil effect or something.. but everythings strange, weird, and not nice to play with... the gameplay just seems dead and slow if you compare it with the 'old' dod and cs...

i hope somebody knows what i mean...

I loaded DOD:S and polayed it about 20hours this weekend. I enjoy this game alot and tomorrow I will go buy it a BestBuy. Its only 20$, so its not that expensive for this great game. I defenetly loved the fact that valve, allows alot of poeple to Try out this game for a weekend! Great Idea, but for sure some will say its for business. Yeah, I know they will mae alot more money with this, but in factm this is how the world worls now.

Well, A "Must Try" before it ends tonight!!

same here green.....bought the game a little while after it came out.....well hey i soppose it did a wonder for my K/D ratio =D

HAHA, I played the crap out of this weekend. I didnt open my xfire, but im sure I broke the 30h this weekend. Yesturday I played from 9 in the morning to 3am this morning, when it stopped!!

Im going to buy it in a hours or 2 and gonna play for 5-6 hours straight again

. I tolly love the game haha!! And, NO, im not a noob chicken running with its head cut off. I getting better and better loll. My best score so far is 20Captured flags with 48/3 with the Sniper dude :P Rush and snipe is the way to go haha!!

Best is about 50 caps well over 200 kills sniper, but then again I scrimmed with a Cal -M team until DOD:S died out competetively. Its ok, just needs more maps. Also don't play it too much, or you will kill the gameplay and replay value.

US sniper rocks all though, I've hit two guys with one shot both in the face when they jumped out two windows at the same time. Its so easy to get headshots with that sniper rifle, because it actually registers (most the time).
