I have popping/cracking problems in all my games.. It cracks and pops when there is a loud pitch kind of sound
Example.. in bf2 If artillery fires near me or if I fire inside the apc i hear pops/clicks I have a xfi fatalt1y card but my old audigy2 when i reinstalled it did the same but could be stopped or limited with new drivers and lower treble to 35.. So it makes me think that there is something wrong with my computer.. I have done everything I could think of to try to stop the popping but nothing works replaced mother board replaced xfi with new Rev B updated drivers tweaked bios reformated different pci slots tried all different settings pci tool lowered hardware accleration etc Whats wrong????? Only thing I changed inside my computer was a new graphics card x1900xtx. I only have a 460wat psu but everything runs fine.. Only other thing I can think of is there isnt enough power to the sound card? How can i tell? How much power does it need? Why lower treble help? I never had to learn about sound cards until now and I never bought a 300 sound card and have sound problems .. Anyone else have issues or had issues and fixed it some how??If anyone can help me I would REALLY appreciate it.. problem has been like this when the xfi first came out heres a topic on it.. but i still dont think its the xfi itself beacuse it happens with the audigy just i can limit/stop it http://forums.creative.com/creativel...ssage.id=31426 I have cheap speakers but i never had problems with them before.. I also get the same pops in headphones.. |

I'm not sure it's gonna help but try this. In the device manager go to sound video and game controllers ---> audio codec ---> properties --- > windows media audio codec ---> set it to priority 1

What motherboard do you have? A full list of specifications would be nice.

Installed chipset drivers?
If you can't solve it you're going to have to return it or something. Pay $300 for a sound card that pops is not something Creative should be making money over.

is the pci tool, the pci latency tool?
edit: are you using scsi drives? Check what revision you have. I think that revision D or later has fixed this problem (i think they have heatsinks). Nvidia says if you send it back, they'll flash it with different firmware. A pain i know.
