Should I buy?

Should I buy Warhammer 40K (without expansion).

Main reason I want to is to play online with my buddy in 10th mountain. So hows the online and such for it?

My friend said its like Starcraft on steroids

Never tried it. If its praised all over then I guess you should get it. I play bf2 so much so I don't usually follow games, if its good let us know.

Well all it took was arestart of my comp and it was up, lovin this game though. Has all the good parts of a RTS + awsome units, upgrades, and weapons.

Im not a fan of warhammer games especially this one and the expansion. There is not enough players online or i mean that there is enough players but still quite low amount and graphics are too grey. I would recommed warcraft3 and expansion the frozen throne more than warhammer , but hey its my opinion :P

Funny I have to be honest and say I totally disagree with that. I think the graphics are very stylish, smooth and probably some of the nicest ive seen in an RTS game. I never played it online but the single player was brilliant if a little short, with the expansion bringing some very cool new vehicles/models and a longer storyline. I have to say I also liked warcraft 3 and beat it too so im not saying that isnt a good game

but you have to admit the graphics now look quite blocky and square shaped in places.

Highly recommended and this series would probably be in my top 10 of all time.

I tolly agree with that Zardon. Warhammer and the expension are really great, but I think Warcraft3/TFT are 2 great game too. My brother still play this game and he really thinks there is no better game then this. I dont agree with him, but its still a great game tho, lot of units, lots of micro, lots of strategics move to learn. But for the graphics, I tolly agree. Its an old game, about 4-5 yeard old now and after 4-5 years u can tell its a bit blocky just like in every games and Warhammer doesnt show blocky graphics. Its really a "NICE" game! I love em' both equally

Warhammer 40k : Dawn of War = Top 5 best RTS (a must buy to all RTS gamers)

I'll pick up the expansion in a few months. What is your fav class guys?

I'm kinda liking the Chaos Marine, but I've only tried out two so far in skirmish. I'll try the Eldars and orcs next.

Both Dawn of War and Winter Assault are good games
and make a really solid fun RTS

but is nothing so earth shattering for a RTS

The Campaigns are very small and there are pathfinding problems with the units
sometimes taking the worse route or not retaliate some enemy fire
and the AI sometimes acts smart (Like retreating) but is really weak and stupid in fighting the offensive

But i guess it will be more fun as a multiplayer experience

I also still wonder who was the guy who said that the graphics are the best in the RTS genre for these game??

Some Warhammer fanatic i guess

I am playing it at 1600x1200 with everything maxed and i can not say it is really better from C&C Generals in that area
They are nice though

Anyway i would love to see the Necrons as a playable army in W40 Dawn of War 2
They were cool in the last mission in Winter Assault
