yea it works. But it is overpowered. No skill is needed

locks in 3 secs, flares do not help more then 70% of the time and they never once do not hit. You can say you need skill now or whatever but dam anything you try they hit still

before the patch my laptop ran bf2 like a champ, now it is unplayable. The buildings are transparent and my fps has got to be around 0.5! I have an ati mobility raedon 9000igp and am using omega's drivers based on catalyst 6.1. A lot of people have reported having the same problem w/ the raedon 9200 card. Please help...i have an addiction that has apparently been cut cold.

And jets can douge the AA not like it hasnt been done. They do not always get hit.. And flares should work more then 50% of the time/

Which right now you always get hit and flares almost never work..


Would be better if there wasnt a limit to how high you can go... and if each map didnt have 7 AA all in random places

well the AA needs some tweaking I admit. (I still have to get my airial badges )
The m95 should be one shot one kill, but if that were the case, the should have called it BF2:Sniper
cause everybody would be a sniper and that would spoil the game a bit.
Now it discourages people from really enjoying sniping. I personally don't mind shooting the same player twice.
Performance wise, I think it's a lot better, espically in the heat of the fight, nice improvement.
I think we can conclude, espcially watching the ratings, those who could fly the chopper and plane really well would always have the highest score.
Dice balanced that a bit, maybe a bit to much. There are to many AA points indeed on some maps.
anyway, i'm still playing and will be for a long time!

You can't throw C4??? What is his arm too weak to throw it? Can't shoot as you prone, that really makes no sense at all.

I think that the changes made to AA are OK! At first i was blown away at actually hitting a flying target, but after you learn to adapt your flying style to overcome the new AA, its atually much better, Far more realistic. The one thing i dont like is that your cant throw med packs and ammo bags, even tho they increased the distance to throw, it was still nice to jump up and throw a pack to a sniper on the roof tops!

the 1.2 patch is the worst thing that had happen to a game. Its one of the worst. I mean, wtf, u can throw c4 anymore?? wth is wrong thworing c4s? They patch it just because n00bs wasnt able to do it and was tired of dying! haha.. I stopped bf2 cuz of the cry-babies patch! lol... its not even a joke.... its a real cry-babiy patch! also, the bunnyhopping... u cant shoot anymore while jumping, euh... ok? EA tottaly screwed the game with this patch

Well not only that you can't throw med packs, which of course realistically you should be able to. But really this game can't be realisitc.

I've been playing BF2 hardcore since the patch and here's my thoughts. They matter cause I'm an owner

AA: AA finally has tracking vs choppers and airplanes which is good but what is bad is how the flares do nothing. Jets can shoot down a chopper without locking on. Jets also are rediculous vs other jets. Basically ground AA is fine as it should be while air is overpowered.

Bunny hopping: Not fixed at all I do it nonstop vs tanks and survive.

Sniping/Grenade Launchers: There are less grenade launchers because snipers rule now, and you don't want to be stuck in the open or you'll be sniped in one shot. Not overpowered but there are so many of them it can be damn near hopeless on some maps.

C4: Ehhh it has stopped the tossing of c4 in battles which is nice but also rendered spec ops fairly useless for quick attacks. Ditto for medics you can't dive in and revive nor toss a health pack over an obstacle.

Overpowered weapons: Support is just fucked up. The guns have the power of 50cal and accuracy of a sniper even in long range. I've actually been 'sniped' by PKM guys while prone with my scope. Almost all of the unlocks feel overpowered while the stock guns remain the same. Support and sniper got the best of the patch for sure.

Hopefully the new patch 1.21 will fix some of these issues, although i am starting to loose faith with EA's patching skills, seeing as they said 1.2 would eliminate the "red tag bug" and i am still seeing friendlies running around with the red tag! Luckily i know enough to shoot based off uniform and not name tag colour. I wish everyone could make the same distinction!!!
I guess we will have to wait and see what EA can fix...or F!*# up with their new patch.

I haven't played battlefield 2 at all for the last couple of weeks. They try to make games realistic but in reality it's impossible, since IT IS A GAME. There is always going to be some sort of fantasy in games, and that's what makes them unique, and fun to play in my opinion. When you try to make games realistic like "you can't throw C4" you take away from the fantasty aspect.

That's what I like about games that there is touch of non-reality.

Yeah i do to, but I only think EA did an awful job with that patch. Like GDF said, they didnt fix the red/blue bug. It suppose to be fix when they release a patch, no? Thats why alot of people are angry about it. They patch something to correct bugs not to destroy the game! (and to make n00bs happy haha) But I know one thing for sure, I needed a break of BF2 anyways lol. Im happy!!
