BF2 patch...made some cards incompatable?
before the patch my laptop ran bf2 like a champ, now it is unplayable. The buildings are transparent and my fps has got to be around 0.5! I have an ati mobility raedon 9000igp and am using omega's drivers based on catalyst 6.1. A lot of people have reported having the same problem w/ the raedon 9200 card. Please help...i have an addiction that has apparently been cut cold.

Ya I am a BF2 player and have been trying diff drivers, and found ATI Omega and BF2 dont like each other at all at least my system. I just put more mem in and went back to cats and all was great looking. Did you do the full 360 install or the 1.12>1.2 . Some say to DL the full 1.2 patch and unistall BF2 and reinstall then apply the new pach seems to help worked for me hope this helps insome way. O and I am not saying that it wont work together at all this is just in my system that I know for sure they dont like each other.(well ati and BF2 dont mix well in the first place) by the way I am running a 9800xt with a gig of pc 3200 in DC .

Yeah, i'm only running the half-patch. I'll give uninstalling and reinstalling a try again, but the problem is most likely because I have been runing the game on a laptop==3.2GHz, mobility raedon 9000IGP, 1.15ddr. I think i will be going into the market for a new computer!

A computer upgrade would definatly be one of the best fixes but i would give the official ATI drivers a try, like you thought, perhaps the OMEGA drivers dont really go with BF2, and a clean install of the Officials might make the difference, sure would be alot cheaper to try.
