havent tried it, is it just bug fixes, if it is then no point, I didnt experience any game ruining bugs. I would like a patch for new levels, something varied. the game bored me to tears. great ending sequence though. im looking forward to the followup.

Well so far it looks likes very few single player fixes and quite a few multiplayer fixes along with new maps. But no new single player content. They have been owkring on this patch since how long? Anyway VU-Greg stated before that this would be the first patch for a gold series of the game (perhaps like SOF 2) so we may see more single player content in the future.

there are a few maps included in this patch and as soon as i get done downloading the patch i am going to reinstall the game and give it another go.i wish i could get into sp,everytime i start a game in sp i feel like such a recluse.i need the interaction with others during play and the spontaneous movement and erratic behavior of the pissed off teenyboppers who play mp on there 3000.00 systems that they didnt have to break there back for and didnt play cod and mohaa so much on that there old lady cheated on them twenty times for and then filed for child support where they cant even afford to buy a new game let alone upgrade there system beyond the darkages if agp.wow who am i?where am i?

Thanks for the info. im looking forward to whatever else they have planned, I just hope they get more time for the level design. overall a good game but it could have been in the same league as Half life 2 if they either had more time with it or a different bunch of guys building the levels.

Funny, ive the opposite view on that. I like to play single player to get AWAY from people. I used to play online quite a bit but there are so many idiots online I just gave up, between cheating, bots and people talking in l33t and just swearing I decided a good single player game is hard to beat.

As I said, ill be interested to hear how the other guys on the forum find the patch and if it improves their experience of the game. I think the guys who made this game are capable of making some of the best FPS titles if they can get a killer level designer in the team

Single should definately be the strong point of games. Sure Multi gives it replay value but single player is like a movie you can play.

I only buy a game if I believe Single player is the focus. I aggree with Z, there are far too many idiots online to make the play experience worth it. I usually only play Multi with some friends because I believe that is the only way to get the most out of it.

From a business standpoint..

Solid Multiplayer games = Guaranteed money. Since online servers require authentic CD Keys etc.

Solid Single Player = Not so guaranteed.. For those who love it to death or the game is like an RPG which contains lots of hours of gameplay, they will buy it. Otherwise, people will just borrow it or acquire it through other means just to say "Hey. I played it.. That was a short 15 hours of gameplay, glad I didn't buy it."

Certain single games are breaking that trend though. Doom 3 and Quake 4 require validation from the CD Key server (If it can reach it). Half-Life 2 is also another game where single player games require multiplayer-like validation.

I've rarily been completely disappointed by a game's multiplayer experience. To me, the fun times outweighs the time with idiots. Could be that I have a higher tolerance for idiocy though. BTW, F.E.A.R's MP is very straight forward, what kind of idiocy will spoil your fun? I'd understand if it was BF2 and people are TKing you and crashing fully loaded Blackhawks, but F.E.A.R. is DM at its core.

P.S - Concerning the patch? I've already uninstalled the game after I beat it. I may install it again to see if it runs better with my 2 GB set coming this weekend...

DM is useless to me, no tactics = useless multi IMHO.

Its about as fun as running around in GTA for 5 hrs killing everything in sight, DM is useless.

So far I liked that outdoor level, though it is pretty much open field, base base, and a ledge... Its still outdoor.

Acutally here is australia it is really popular with at least 50-70 regular players. Plus i play with hundreds of other different players all over the world.

Actually there is about 25 modded maps ive seen and played on so far so this statment is false. There is also about 100 more maps in the making and out there, so plenty to play on.
