Awww Broken Xbox!

yea...Well...I wanted to switch over to XBMC as my dashboard...I Was using evoX and XBMC just seemed WAYYY nicer and worked better (imho)

so I got into the FTP server and installed XBMC as the default dash.

nowwwwww it wont boot. And I can't seem to make a properly working boot disc. I got ONE to sorta work but it crashed after a few seconds.

any XB modders out there that know something about this?

does it not boot at all? do you get a microsoft error mesage or does it frag? (red and green lights flashing)

nope. I flip the switch and its a normal xbox. no problems. I put the modchip back on and i get the Xbox starting screen and it says "executer2" or whatever on the bottom. I FINALLY got a boot disc to work and FTP running, but when I put my backup files back in, evoX STILL WONT LOAD! And I cant get XBMC loaded as the dash either. Basically no dash will load.

hrm, im not sure then, do you happen to have slayers? You could try a new build with that. Sorry i couldnt offer better advice.

i got it working again sorta.

I deleted pretty much everything and put evoX back on.

I'm kinda mad though. I really wanted XBMC.

Modchip's are a hassle, have mine with a 120gig hardrive, with 5 working dash's including xbmc without the use of a modchip, all done by software. If you have a backup of your xbox eeprom and your drives you can make a new xbox HDD from scrach. It's another solution for you problem but there's lot's more. Been playing around on xbox's for quite sometime now. Need any help just ask.

the problem with putting a new hard drive in is that I've been on Live and I intend to keep using Live. You cant change hard drives after you've used Live (or so I hear)

Anyway All I want is XBMC as my dash.

Before installing any dash don't ever forget to make a backup or the MS dash incase something goes wrong. To boot up with xbmc as your main dash you need to install it to C:\ and install all other dash's you need in E:\ apps. I can get you a full suite of software for the xbox if you need it, from dash's to whatever you'll ever need.
