Analyst: PlayStation 3 shipments below forecast

Initial shipments of Sony Corp.'s hotly anticipated PlayStation 3 video game console appear to have been lower than expected, American Technology Research analyst Paul-Jon McNealy said Wednesday.

Um.. not below forecast, but below, waaay below the numbers that came out of Sony execs mouthes on numerous occassions right up to the launch of the PS3.

Simply put: They either didn't know how many they actually had for launch, or... they lied.

Given Sony's track record the last few months on promises, retractions, and so fourth... I'll take the latter reason.

They should put a screen, buttons on the side of the PS3 and make it a 20lbs next gen handheld
