Is Microsoft preparing a spoiler for Sony's PAL-region PlayStation 3 launch on 23 March? According to one report, Australian store chain Myer has been told to expect a black Xbox 360 complete with HDMI port an 120GB hard drive round about that time.

So claims a story on GamesReport.com, which also maintains Microsoft has confirmed as much. The beast will retail for AUD749 ($585/£299/€449), apparently.

I can hardly believe people actually want to support Microsoft.

Playstation 2 is still better than the Xbox 360 in terms of games, and hey - it's MICROSOFT here - why give them any money you don't have to?

Playstation 2? that hunk of crap console with lack of really any damn good sum of great games? I mean GTA is all fun on any machine, but PS2 was by far the worse to play it on.


I'd by a xbox360 over a PS2/3 any day of the next mellenium. But i'd still get a Wii first if i had a real choice

I own 30 something PS2 games and really enjoy the heck out of 'em, and I guess that's what matters most.

I still have my Dreamcast but I don't play it much.

The original Soul Calibur is still better than Soul Calibur 2 on other platforms. It kicks arse.

The PS2 was good for it's time... I have 50 PS2 games and only 7 Xbox 360 ones... One console is getting way more time on my TV than the other...

My hands fit better on the Playstation 2 controller. The Controller S is still not something that fits me well.


If you want to get rid of your PS2 titles, you can mail 'em to me and I'll take 'em off your hands...

As for comparing next gen to last gen, I guess I'm looking strictly at the quality of the games in terms of gameplay.

Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution has no equal on any other platform - yet. Crash Nitro Kart, Jak & Daxter The Precursor Legacy, Ratchet and Clank, Bombastic, the SSX series, Devil May Cry 1 and 3, Sled Storm, God of War, Gran Turismo 3: Aspec, Crimson Sea 2, Splashdown - etc - thesare are all some very good games that just flat out play better than almost any game I've tried on other platforms. Heck, even Muppets Party Cruise was fun.

I liked Rallisport Challenge on the original Xbox so much, I got it for the PC. Soul Calibur and Crazy Taxi on the Dreamcast rocked.

But for me, the PS2 games just seem to "click" with me. Part of it is the controller, I think, but some of the games are best of breed, imo.

Plus, my PS2 with an S-Video cable to my TV has been awesome for years. I even like the detailed functions on the Sony remote, even if I can't read it in the dark and the buttons are small.

I don't know what up with the PS3 and the 360, but for now, there's just not much out there that would in any way draw me to pay more than $199 for any console. I don't see how it's worth it, unless Blue-Ray wins the format battle.

Anyway, I'm glad folks dig the Xbox 360 - if it makes 'em happy, more power to 'em. It's just not for me. Not so much because it's a Microsoft product, but I believe the Playstation 2 is a great fit for me.

I still play some NES and SNES games simply because they still have utterly better gameplay then current gen.
