Old vs. New Horrifying FPS Games - System Shock 2 vs. FEAR @ HCW

Since I built a new computer about a week ago, I’ve been going through all the great games I’ve missed for the last year, when I found that my old Althon 64 just wasn’t cutting it anymore. The list is long: Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Guild Wars, Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, etc. There was also Supreme Commander and Command and Conquer 3 but I just can’t be bothered to play RTS games. However, everyone knows that the latest and greatest hardware shines best when it goes up against first person shooters.

System Shock 2 was the bomb, I can't wait for Bioshock. The art deco, underwater setting looks very promising. If its half as good as SS2 I'll be happy.

I've not played System Shock (gasp!), but Bioshack looks excellent.

I found the original Doom or even Half Life more intense and perhaps even "scary" than either of the above games.

SS2 was slept on cuz of HL but boy it was a great game and scary as heck. Although yeah I enjoyed the overall HL expirience a little more.

System Shock 2 is still one of my favorite games, and more so when you install the SHTUP and Rebirth Beta 01/Rebirth: Complimented Edition high rez texture mods.

SShock2 is one of the greatest games i've ever played, the original was pretty groundbreaking for it's time aswell
