2 COPIES!, sweet, anyone that already has a copy, and the requirements met, could techically give thier main account away to share, and use the new account

Hmm... Good one. AMD and ATI are going to rise again. Maybe not with best performance but with good enough marketing. They should give access to some better titles. HL2 DM isn't exactly the most exciting game out there. Free CS or DOD would be much cooler.

Interesting, sounds like that also applies to OEM versions as well as retail, if it goes by ATI hardware detection.
Hopefully they will have an un-bundled driver option as well, haven't decided if I want to steam up my computer.

It just detects your GPU chip and if it's made by ATI it unlocks those games.

Someone clue me in on why this is such big news right now. I've had these two titles for ages already.
Is it for anyone with an ATI/AMD card installed whether they ever bought HL2 or any other Valve title? |

It goes like this: If you have GFX card with ATI chip you get the games free.

Yeah but Lost Coast was a tech demo not a game...and HL2 DM is well a DM game so this is really nothing huge.

I hope Steam is an optional install and not just forced on you. I don't want anything Steam related in my PC, especially if I'm just updating video drivers.
Net controlled downloading of games is not something I'm interested in. |
