Xbox Live boosts Lions Gate revenues

_______________ Lions Gate Entertainment has revealed that 150,000 download rentals have been racked up for the 15 films it has made available via Xbox Live - helping to boost digital revenues by 50 per cent. The company's films became available to US Xbox Live users in February, priced at 320 Microsoft points (around USD 4) for SD rentals and 480 points (USD 6) for HD rentals. Lions Gate CEO Jon Feltheimer revealed that video-on-demand sales for hit film Employee of the Month "exceeded USD 3 million on a film that grossed about USD 27 million at the domest box office". |

Fell off the tech wagon

Well thats great but I have yet to rent a movie off of XBL because of the problem of once you hit play once you only have it for 24 hours when you should be able to keep it for the full 14 days like you can before you have to push play.
Now since they are making so much money of this they should also release in HD-DVD so they can yet again get more money! Why only release in one format is beyond me when the money facotor is always there! |
