Gears of War For PC To Be Announced At E3

A gameplay montage video of Epic Games' Gears Of War—specifically listed as PC footage—found its way to the internet earlier today, confirming the long-running rumors of a PC port of the million-selling Xbox 360 third-person shooter. That video was quickly pulled, with copies of the clip making their way to YouTube, Google Video and the other usual suspects.

If this is true I'm halfway convinced buying a 360 ain't worth it. The two reasons I had were Gears of War and GTA IV, if they announce GTA for PC I'll go 8800GTX instead of a 360

From what i could gather.... there is a slight chance that with epic working on the rec 2 of the unreal 3 engine (making it fully vista and dx10 (10.1? ) feature rich, that we COULD theoretically see gears of war look much better and play much better on the pc if this comes to pass..... Would make sense with the release date as wel.

It would be Vista only no matter what but I don't see why they need to waste time with DX10 when it was hailed as the best looking console game ever made. Just port those graphics over exactly to the PC and our high end video cards will chew it up (especially if it comes out in 2008 with 2nd gen DX10 cards available ).

x360 really doesnt look so tempting anymore, tho I'd still love to have one.

I want it for the campaign, couldn't care less about the MP. PC has has real multiplayer not console style.

let's hope they don't leave out us XP users. I would assume since UT3 is going to run on XP that they will make Gears work too. >fingers crossed<

I can see M$ Game Studios doing that, though. I doubt they've learned their lesson from Halo 2 for Vista.

It will be Vista only, with or without DX10. Halo 2 and Shadowrun work on Xp so there's hope Gears might also work with it.

One has to admit though the turn aroud time for the cosole to PC ports has diminished substantially!

While halo 2 took 2-3 years how long did Lost Planet take and it was a 360 port?

That's true, though I think the PC version was made at the same time as the console just like RS:Vegas and Splinter Cell: DA. If it's a 360 only game I think it'll be quite a while before it gets to PC.
