NEW YORK (Reuters) - Most video games are "boring" or too complicated, and game makers need to do more to appeal to casual players, according to the head of the world's largest video game publisher, Electronic Arts Inc.

Best part of that article was where he complains that too many companies simply release tired rehashes of last years titles year on year. I wonder if he forgot what company he's CEO of...

This guy is something else! When was the last time that EA released an original game? Dune 2? Or was that under Virgin?
I believe that games are not more complicated than older games, but, they sure haven't improved much on their UI. The problem is not the complexity of newer games, but the lousy way to implemented with less than great UI.
Are most games repeats of old? Sure, but that is impossible to not be. People claim they want new and different games, but when most of them are released they still buy NBA the need for speed part 56.
As for him finding boring most or all of today's games, either he hasn't played games outside of EA games, or he is just getting way too old, in spirit, not physical age.
