GH Competition: An ode to gaming

Here at GamingHeaven we are kind souls that like to share the joys of gaming with all of you. And because giving a man a fish will feed him for the day and teaching him how to fish will feed him for his life, we can't just give away stuff. You have to work for it.

Last time we asked you to come up with a funny caption for an Oblivion picture and although pleasantly surprised by the imagination of some of you, we thought you could do with a bigger challenge. Something to make you think, make you bang your head against the wall, perhaps even make you more educated in the end. As luck would have it we are all poets at heart here at DH, so we want you to write a haiku about gaming.

Don’t know what a haiku is? Educate yourself here. If you are really short on time and only want to hear the essentials, here is a classic example:

I woke up today;
I stuck a knife in my ear.
Now I can't hear well.

Notice the 5-7-5 syllable composition? That’s all there is to it. For extra points you should try to break the haiku in two at the end of the first or second line, as required by traditional Japanese poetry. Obviously the haiku should speak about something gaming related such as video games characters. Attaining a state of pure Zen and delivering the best haiku will result in a different kind of nirvana state – a more gaming oriented one. The grand prize you will all be sharpening your pencils for is the Wolfclaw gaming keyboard. You might think that with your gaming skills you don’t need it, but believe us when we say that your online gaming needs this keyboard (as proven by the Heavenly hardware Gold award we gave it).

You are by now probably anxious to hear the rules of engagement. As always they are rather simple: Unlimited entries allowed, any living form save the DH administration staff from anywhere in the world may participate and expiration date right in the middle of August (15.8.2007). To enter simply post in this thread. The winner will be choosen by the DriverHeaven poets/staff - their decission is final. Ready, set? Let the words flow!

Just to clarify, the haiku should be directly related to gaming. Whether you accomplish this by using video game character names or game genres or whatever comes to your mind is up to you.

Just to help you guys out here is an example of a gaming haiku:

Lara Croft is hot,
there is no denying that.
Teenagers want her.

Obviously the above is a laughable attempt at this, but it does follow all the rules (even the bonus points). Hopefully you guys will be able to come up with stuff that is a bit less ridiculous.
