Picture standing on top of a huge medieval fantasy bridge, staring at a sprawling metropolis underneath you. The sunshine is setting on the far west, ready to sink into the ocean and flocks of seagulls are dotting the horizon. As you watch a huge fleet of battleships sail towards the harbour you realize that the seagulls are surprisingly easy to spot for being so far away. Certainly a more generous review compared to some other reviews on the net. I eagerly await a demo on the PSN to try it out . I must admit I found it hard to believe that a game that looks and sounds as good as this can be panned so badly by reviewers.

I personally have a lot of faith in peter not only as a reviewer, but as a gamer. the well documented issue with the controls didn't ruin it for him as he seemed to deal with it a lot better than many other gaming reviewers ive seen on other sites.

I have not played it yet myself, but it does look appealing.

Looks promising, though most reviews that I have read so far are negative about it.
If I had the money and a PS3 I would still get it, because, DRAGONS!

i was really looking forward to this game, but becuase of the reviews i gave it a pass. peter hasnt steered me wrong yet so i think i will pick it up when i get my next check.
& ty for a well done review. i think lack of patience might have had a part in some of those other reviews...& maybe some poor gaming skills.

I think there will be a demo on the playstation store. Always worth waiting till they put it on if you're not sure.

And to comment on the second part of your post - I find it really sad that several sites in their hunt for exclusive reviews decided that the controls are bad, period. It didn't take me more than 3 missions to fully master the controls, and the notorious bull grabbing mission one of the online review sites (I'll refrain from pointing out which) keeps pointing out was completed in my first attempt. And keep in mind that I'm just a regular gamer, not a pro like fatal1ty or something...

Totally nailed my likes and dislikes about the control scheme. It really isn't even close to what most reviews have said. The game itself is good, it looks awesome at 1080p(although the framerate hurts at times), and the controls are different but definitely doable. Personally I prefer small doses of saxxis, kinda like in Folklore.

IGN put me off the game and I didn't buy it, even though ive been wanting a good game for my PS3 which has been gathering dust.

After reading this I bought it, cause Peter always seems to like the games I do.

I would like to say a big fat thanks!, its a killer game, and while it took me a few hours to master the controls I have beaten quite a few of the levels and am loving the music and the atmosphere.

Its a killer game and I think your review rocks. I would give it 85% or so, but I understand the controls might mark it down a bit. I am reading all your reviews on GH now, because I think some of the bigger sites like IGN have people reviewing them who clearly arent putting in the time or have some hand coordination problems

i think we are experiencing a net phenomenon right now. xbox 360 guys are just causing a scene on most forums about how poor and bad this game is, when in fact less than 5% I would say have played it.

I am an xbox 360 owner myself however I don't feel the need to start slating games just for the hell of it. I would like to see the PS3 start delivering because as we all know, competition is healthy for the consumer. right now only have the 360 as the leading next gen console while the wii churns out innovative and playable "last gen" titles. The PS3 would surely fill this gaping hole.

Anyway, ive played this game in a local store today and I enjoyed it, once I worked out the tilting, which I still didn't truly master, although after 10 minutes I felt competent enough to almost beat the first level. Hardly rocket science and I quite like the axis pads, its got an edge when compared to a standard 360 style pad, yet not extreme enough to make me look like a complete twat in the store, aimlessly waving nintendo style controllers in the air - i never really bought into the nintendo controllers, however innovative they are.

I also would like to appauld DH for standing by their views and this is something ive seen as a long time lurker here. When Nvidia were releasing shoddy hardware, DH told the truth and took the flak. When the situation reversed, again the truth was told, and this pleasantly appears to be transferring to gamingheaven.

Also lets be totally honest here, how many of you have read the nintendo wii games on gamespot? they get that fat idiot who has a 40,000 xbox 360 score to rate them, and he says they all suck. Again im not defending the wii, as I dont like it, however I think everyone should abhor bias on any level. Websites like this are here to direct possible money from their readers. lying due to personal dislikes is something that should close a site.
