Microsoft: 11.6 million Xbox 360s sold

___________ Microsoft says that more than 11.6 million Xbox 360 consoles have been sold to date. The figure makes for interesting reading. As of June, the platform holder said it had had shipped (not sold) 11.6 million Xbox 360s, but seemingly that batch has now been completely snapped up. A recent Financial Times report said that Nintendo's Wii had overtaken Microsoft's Xbox 360 as the best-selling next-gen console, although the reported figures had not been corroborated by any of the big three console manufacturers at the time. The report stated that through the end of July (or the end of August in Japan), 9 million consumers had purchased Wiis, 8.9 million had bought Xbox 360s and 3.7 million had bought PS3s, putting Nintendo's Wii ahead of the competition. |

Well I expect the Wii to win overall sales but the 360 is more fun IMO! It's worth the extra cost!
The PS3 like everyone knew is going to be last and stay last for a long time and I don't think it will ever catch up. Sony just messed it up with the cost and coming out to late for them to win the sales this time around.

Man..for a second there I thought it said billion.
Since I don't have stock in any company, I don't care which sells more. I have no problem having good games with my 360, and the Wii and PS3 have good games too, no matter who is first in sales. Why would a gamer even care which of the three is first? You buy a console for the games it has, and if you like them, then you are a happy gamer.

Funny thing is that's exactly how the Sony's playstation killed off Nintendo's N64 back in the day, the N64 came out late. The wii actually has more potential than all the others since it hasn't marketed as much as the xbox and the ps3. It still has alot more room to grow than all the others, theyve mostly already taken up their space in the pot. So there is probably still a good chance the wii may still come out on top.
