I'm an unapologetic PC snob. Don't get me wrong -- my Xbox 360 and PS2 get plenty of use between Guitar Hero, sports games and other assorted revelry. But when it comes to my shooters, there's no fooling around -- I want my trusty mouse, keyboard and 1920x1200 resolution. So when Gears of War was released for the Xbox 360 to huge acclaim last year, I decided to save myself, so to speak, for the inevitable PC version. After all, this is Epic Games, the creators of the Unreal franchise. It wouldn't let us down, right?

It appears that faith is about to be rewarded: barely a year after it hit the 360, Gears of War arrives on the PC this November 6th. We recently visited Epic's North Carolina headquarters for a hands-on look at what's shaping up to be one of the most impressive-looking PC releases of 2007.

It's good to hear that this will be playable on XP.
