It's nearly three years since the high profile split between Eidos and Sports Interactive and it's
still not possible to talk about Championship Manager without mentioning Football Manager. But hey, this is football. Passions run high. Allegiances don't waver. Maybe, though, it's time for football management fans to look beyond their tribal loyalties. Maybe it's time for them to acknowledge how far Beautiful Game Studios has taken the new Championship Manager since the inauspicious debut of Championship Manager 5 (which Wikipedia describes as a 'disaster': "Bug-ridden, lacking in features and with an amateurish GUI, a large proportion of its sale resulted from ignorance of the Eidos/SI split and many a fan of the old series must have been shocked to see such a retrograde step." Citation needed, surely?).
