Sony Confirms Redesigned PlayStation 2 Model

Officials from Sony Japan have confirmed plans to release a redesigned version of the PlayStation 2 console. Although the new hardware model will be smaller than ever, with a built-in AC adapter, it will still be sold at the same price in Japan.

The hardware revision was rumored earlier in the month, but the smaller console was predicted to be accompanied by a 25 percent price drop. According to a an official Sony press release, this is not the case in Japan at least, where it will remain at a price of ¥16,000 ($139).

well damn....

it's probably the size of a cd-walkman now.... and probably much more easily distroyed as well...falls apart 90% more efficiently.
