Half Life. The original. Valve set the bar by which all future games would be judged. Plus, they never lied to you about cake in HL1.

SAMSAMHA will become famous soon enough

I have to say that I like Half-Life 2. Personally, I am not a huge fan of these shoot them type of games, but HL2 really changed me. The story is gripping, the graphic is awesome, and the combination of the light, sound, images scared the crap out of me (specially during late night playing, had a hard time fall asleep. Not sure if this is due to the excitement after playing the game or scared of the whole zombie).

I love Valve games because the kept me in virtual world for a bit of time (and that's difficult these days). Both Half-Lifes was amazing SP games and enjoyed playing them a lot. Playing EP1 wasn't much fun but I have much bigger hopes for Ep2...
...but cannot play it right now I was forced to downgrade hardware. Wouldn't it be nice to help ATI fanboy (short on cash) get back on hardware trends?

My favorite Valve game so far is Portal. Yes, the other games are fun, but Portal is just too stylish, too original, too polished not to nab the top spot. It just an instant classic that absolutely anyone, gamer or not, can enjoy.

TF2 is FTW

Nothing like getting a bunch of friends beit on the same team running heavy medic tandems or against each other and clubbing them like baby seals. TF2 is the single greatest evolution in gaming where it can before the the casual gamer or the hardcore strategy kids all are guaranteed to have mad fun.

Expanding a bit on what I mentioned earlier: one of the nicer things about Portal, I think, is that Valve took a little bit of a risk with it. You don't see too many companies keen on letting the students fresh out of DigiPen come up with something unique and fresh for a major console and PC software release.

My favorite Valve game of all time is going to easily be Counter Strike: Source... thats right I said it SOURCE, not 1.6 Oh i dont want to hear a bunch of whining asses jumping on the wagon saying source can't compete or hear about your hitbox theories on why source in the weaker engine I'm one of the oldest pc gamers out there, I've stormed my way through every FPS on the planet so just face it, you don't have what it takes. You lose repeatedly because there will always be people like me that jump in the server and have "magic hitbox hacks" that you claim make your head the size of Veronika Zemanova's love cushions oh too bad. Keep whining, I'll keep pwning you.
It's because you were born with a small penis, keep playing 1.6 we don't want you to evolve, you aren't fit for the next generations gene pool.

So yeah, I'll keep coming back to source, either for competitive play or for all out noob stomping rec action, I just can't get enough. Can't wait for the next rendition of this already masterfully executed Pi่ce de r้sistance.

Thank you Gabe Newell for the Highest Quality FPS engine in Existence!!!

Half-Life 1

Half-Life 1
This is the game I would always reinstall and play through every time I upgraded my video card. Just to see the new fancy graphics at a higher resolution.

Gee, I sure would like to play half life 1 again.

Gah. Something funny, you say? Huh! Now I have to be creative for a giveaway? Oh noez. Craptacular. Well. Uhm. No, not gonna happen. You can pry that punch line from my cold, dead fingers.

And no, can't really decide. HL was ground breaking, but is old now. HL2 was also ground breaking. Is it better than HL? Not sure. Portal was just plain fun.

There. Sue me now.

Counter-Strike

For me this is a huge contest between TFC/TF2 and CS as far as hours of enjoyment. Don't get mean wrong, I love HL/HL2/EP1-2, but the sheer amount of time I've spent playing Valve's multiplayer games is enough to make my calendar shriek in pain.

I'll choose CS because I flipped a coin and it came up heads.

Defining moment: watching a roommate of mine play. The CTs managed to kill everyone person on his team within 30 seconds, leaving him against 6 CTs and armed only with a glock (this was his first round on that server). He finds a hiding spot with the civs and the six CTs roll in as a group from both sides. He jumps out and starts going to town with his glock. Three clips later, he's standing there with full health, a dry pistol, six dead counter-terrorists and a bunch of unwounded civilians. I still don't know how he did it, but if John Woo had been there he would have made a movie about it, all we needed were some white doves.

And on that day was born the phrase "When a problem comes along, you must glock it"

My favorite game is the Half-life 2 (Portal a close runner up) series and there is a lot of reasons, great gameplay, awesome IQ, cinematic storyline and much more. But there is one episode from when playing the game, which I remember clearly as one of those "OMG moments". I was playing HL2: EP2 and one of my friends was also playing it and we were both at a LAN party right next to each other. So we were both playing HL2: EP2 and started the same time (at release-date here in EU) and our progress in the game was pretty identical. We were both at the level with the bridge, where the "car" is located at. We both spotted G-man at the EXACT SAME TIME and both of us looked at each other and screamed: G-MAAAAN! Hilarious

That was good times.

Pretty much all of them But the most memorable to date (and favourite) would have to be Half Life for giving me the most enjoyable Multiplayer Kill combo to date Original Half Life Multiplayer Deathmatch, using the intriguing 'Laser' guided Rocket Launcher, happened to turn off the Laser Guide and fired a few pots shots around for the fun of it....only to have then Guided by another player hiding around the corner into a group of people and getting three kills

My love for Half Life

I love half life, but not for the reasons most people say they love it. I truely enjoy half life not for the original gameplay, but for the effect it had on the modding community. Thank you valve for the best reason to explore the reaches of gaming limits. People everywhere love your games, I do too, but I truly enjoy the openness of your software and your open arms to the modding community. Which has I think evolved the FPS and overall gaming world as much as anything else. And I know people have done it with other games in the past, but as far as I can tell, Half life was the first truly openly modded game that had the impact on the gaming community. Besides, how many games can still say they have active mods after being out for so many years.

My favourite Valve game has to be Half Life 1, it pushed the boundaries on how modern day modding has created a whole new community and made some modders famous to the point they even got hired by companies based on their achievements in modding / mapping for Half Life!
Valve rules and steam rules too!

HL2, as I like the mix of driving, gravity gun, bigger guns and strategy. I will likely buy this card so as to get the black box.
