Blizzard buys Diablo3.com

DiabloFans.com has the outcome of the countdown that started on Diablo3.com a couple of weeks ago (story), saying that Blizzard has purchased the Diablo3.com domain from them. Expectations that the announcement to which they were counting down were tempered by a follow-up (story), but this move carries the obvious implication that Blizzard is turning their attention to a next installment in the action/RPG series, welcome news to a good number of Diablo fans (though DiabloFans.com has word from Blizzard saying this should not to be considered a Diablo III announcement. Congrats to the site owners on their windfall, and hats off to Blizzard for acquiring the domain they wanted by busting out their checkbook, rather than a team of lawyers.

I'd love to see a D3 even more than a Starcraft 2.

Agreed. There are few games I would rather see more (aside from Dungeon Keeper 3, and maybe a new Ogre Battle).

I'd like to see what they come up with next. Titan quest was a pretty good diablo2 clone but it's not what I will expect of diablo 3.
