Vancouver-based Radical Entertainment has made a name for itself in the open-world genre, primarily in games based on licensed properties: The Simpsons Hit & Run, The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, and Scarface: The World is Yours.

For its current project, however, it is taking the lessons learned from those titles and applying them to an internally-developed IP. Prototype, to be published next year by parent company Vivendi, is an ambitious "open-world thriller" set in New York.
