Totem Games announces Ironclads: American Civil War, a historical naval combat wargame (thanks
Gamer's Hell) described as "coming soon." The update includes a number of screenshots as well as a description of the project, though that is a bit confused as it seems roughly translated from the developer's native Russian. Here's a bit:
Now our studio works above creation of game for personal computers in English. Game includes elements of various genres, as historical wargame, a naval simulator and turned based tactics.
Current of time inside of game is broken into rounds. Within the limits of each round in consecutive sequence the player and the computer opponent can realize all actions possible within five minutes of real time for each of the ships. During the moment of actions of the chosen active ship all other game units are motionless. Time for decision-making is not limited.
Game locations of real scales are not divided into cells or hexagons. The trajectory of movement of the active ship is determined by laws of physics proceeding from speed, the sizes and the form.
