EA Cancels Red Alert 3 for PS3

According to our source at Gamestop, EA has removed the PlayStation 3 version of Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3 from their upcoming release list.

Would this be because EA can't release an actually "complete" game anymore without patching it 36 times in the first 6 months ie: BF2/2142?

Battlefield series isn't exactly comparable bug wise to C&C series. They probably cancelled it because RTS games don't play well on consoles.

Confession: Before I had a PC I obsessively played all the C&C games on Playstation and even N64. I'd play the skirmish so long that the framerate would drop to a slideshow and that didn't stop me

They can still be cool on the consoles, they just won't sell as well as a shooter or typical EA series game.

wasnt a C&C game released on a 360? Im guessing the additional development costs against profit aren't good enough to warrant the release.

Tiberium Wars and Kanes Wrath are both on the 360 and not on PS3. RA3 also going to 360 so I guess it's a popular series.

The PS3 is a great blu-ray player (because Sony is the only company willing to sell one at a loss) but there's not one convincing argument for buying a PS3 to place next to my xbox 360 when it comes to games.

tbh man i agree :/
RTS's are the only games the pc format has left that's more suited for it, everything else from Indie to FPS's have been snatched and made into console titles
