You could probably be forgiven for glossing over the DS release schedules these days, expecting to see nothing but Nintendogs and Brain Training knockoffs from tiny publishers cluttering up the shelves and confusing DS-owning grans the world over. But it's time wake up and smell the roses –
Soul Bubbles is a knockback to the more inventive days of DS Past, a lovely, innovative puzzle game that starts off pleasantly relaxing and gets infuriatingly challenging as time goes on. Developed in France and published by Eidos, Soul Bubbles is a reminder of what clever developers used to do with the DS: find an as-yet-unexplored application for the touch screen, and build an entertaining and unique game around it.
