Nintendo today announced Wii Speak, a set-top microphone compatible with the Wii console, at their E3 2008 press conference today.
The peripheral will make its debut alongside Animal Crossing City Folk, which will allow players to communicate with nearby players in a given city.
As briefly shown at the conference, the Wii Speak microphone sits atop a television, allowing for multiple users to use the device simultaneously.
Wii Speak will debut alongside Animal Crossing City Folk, due out at the end of 2008. It is not yet clear whether the peripheral will debut as a packed-in peripheral with Animal Crossing or sold separately.
