Prisons to ban adult-rated games

Adult prisoners in England and Wales are to be banned by the Prison Service from playing computer games rated 18. Good behaviour will allow offenders to play other games, and those at risk of suicide will be also given access.

How about they go one step fiurther, and just ban videogames in prison full stop? Since when do criminals deserve such luxuries anyway.

seriously, I thought getting raped and bulking up in the yard was their form of entertainment.

Maybe if they play hello kitty or katamari damaci long enough they will turn into wimps.

I think the idea behind it (allowing games) is to "repair" these people and not just punish them.

Good god. I mean, I hardly think playing Grand Theft Auto is constructive when trying to rehabilitate offenders.

Prisons shouldn't get much more than basic tv access and monitored internet access...wtf do they need videogames for?

If they do get to play games it should be all kids games on the Wii

god no they might end up getting over excited and start losing weight, give em a 360 that way they'll be so hooked on gaming they'll gain weight and get nice and fat so they can't escape

Just imagine how could it would be to play an inmate on Xbox Live and piss him off so much he starts a prison riot or shanks his cellmate for distracting him during a game.
