Spore Preloads

Pre-downloads are now underway for preorder customers for the downloadable PC edition of Spore from the EA store who will be able to acquire about 99% of the game in advance of its release on September 7 in North America and September 5 in Europe (though you will be charged for the game immediately). When the game goes live on those dates, these customers will be able to complete download and installation to begin playing within 30-60 minutes. This applies to digital downloads of the PC edition only, as the Spore Collector's Edition is only available as a boxed copy, and Mac users interested in digital distribution can preorder from GameTree Online, but they do not seem to be offering preloads at this time.
