Spore DRM Prompts $5M Class Action Lawsuit

Some of the information in the suit is obviously bogus ... like not being able to uninstall SecuROM at all without a reformat ... but let's face it, this whole Spore DRM thing has been a major PR mess for EA.

You can uninstall Securom offcourse, but the normal avg. user has no chance.
Anyway I could live with the max 5 install limit, but I can defiantly not live with Securom removing my dvd-burner from my system... |

I still don't understand their reasoning for having such restrictive DRM. They claim it's to prevent piracy, yet anyone could download a warez version or cracked executable and be good to go. It just encourages people to steal it when it's more trouble to play the game if you actually buy it. DRM gone badly wrong.

I think it is stupid to go for a class action lawsuit. Just do as I do and don't buy the game.
