NO Demo for Dead Space
Andrew Green over at EA today let Xbox Evolved know that there "will be no demo" for Dead Space. Seems that, "the developers focused on the final game instead of a slice for demo to focus on quality."

Re: NO Demo for Dead Space
well thats me out then as i generally wont shell out 40 quid for a game without a demo to try it first
i will just have to wait till it goes for about 15 quid on the secondhand market

Re: NO Demo for Dead Space
that's a shame. I like the premise of the game, but with it being a EA game and no demo and with potential drm, yeah sure I will buy the game asap. NOT.

Re: NO Demo for Dead Space
Demo's aren't necessary for console games, only for PC's to make sure you can run it. Read a few reviews and watch some video reviews and you'll see enough to justify a purchase or skip it; so far the reviews I read were very positive.

Re: NO Demo for Dead Space
Up to a few years ago there used to be a magazine called (final name) Computer Games. It had my favourite layout, reviews that I trusted (though not always agreed with) and reviews and comments that I knew were not trying to deceive us. For more than a decade I kept buying the magazine till it was closed. I loved that magazine and highly respected the people working there. I was even part of its online community for years.
I still never decided to buy a game only because they said it was great and worth the purchase. Now, the closest thing to it is DH/GH. The thing is, with so many games out and with EA being behind this game with all that means by it, there is no way I will buy this game without playing a demo and not knowing what they do about DRM. Demos are necessary for console and PCs IMO. Let me put it this way, it is more likely I will buy a game after playing its demo, than if the publisher (EA) decides we don't need it. Yeah right.

Quote:
I mean cmon, between DH, Gamespot, IGN and Gametrailers you can practically watch an entire game in just the video reviews
