Updates to Hinterland have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The specific changes include:
New Features- Halloween theme-all games played on Halloween have more undead and Halloween monsters
- New character classes: Goblin Thief, Trickster, and Fallen Hero
- New followers: Undertaker and Pumpkin Farmer
- New monsters: Minotaur, Scarecrow, and Jack'o'lantern
- Many new items
Balance Tweaks
- Gold cost of resource purchasing now scales with each purchase
- Raiders now attack for a longer period of time before pulling back
- There is now an experience variation based on class
Bug Fixes
- Cow animations should now be showing properly
- It was previously possible to Advertise with only 2 or 3 gold, but this should now be fixed
- Defense skill should no longer display a huge value when using items with negative defense stats
- Food production and consumption should now update properly when loading older saves
- Upgrading a building should now properly keep the same placement rotation
- Mouse clicks that close UI elements should no longer register as clicks on elements underneath them
- Research buttons should now gray out when all research is completed
- The last (14th) icon slot for town resources should no always show up
- Auto-equip should no longer pull items from the Party Inventory when outside of town
- Follower cards should no longer fail to update when changes are made and the Roster is open
- Bottom row of the Follower Roster should no longer overlap the auto-equip button
- Follower Talk Dialogs should now properly update their production values in real time
- Initial value of the score effect of character options should no longer be inaccurate in any circumstance.
- Exiting while choosing initial character abilities should no longer produce invalid lord name when resumed
- Tooltips should now properly resize when going from smaller to larger resolutions
- Alert messages should no longer remain in the message queue for far too long
- Initial states of character options buttons should no longer show green when they should be red
- Tons of localization UI and translation bugs should be fixed
- In windowed mode, resolutions higher than the native resolution should no longer be available
- You should no longer be able to start multiple copies of the Hinterland app
- Alt+tabbing during mapgen will no longer lock up when in full screen mode
- Game should no longer crash when swapping items at the same time as auto-equip ticks
- Fixed a very rare crash that could occur during the file save process
