Atari has acknowledged that the sale of second hand games has harmed the industry, but the publisher isn't concerned about reselling impacting its own business as it intends to offer more online features and services in its products.

In the local GAME shop, they have second hand games for the consoles. New and old games, many times the price is lower than the non second hand games only by a few pounds. For example Far Cry 2 for 34 or other games for 30 and 29 pounds. Other games are in the 2 for 30 range. Perhaps if the publishers were allowing a lower price for the new copies it would be so bad that people actualy buy second hand copies to save a few pounds.
