Wow, if this is true, I will buy the game. Not that I am crazy about PoP.

And watch the sales rocket. Hopefully if sales are high this could reflect how DRM is destroying gaming and other companies follow suit. Well done Ubisoft for breaking the mould

It doesn't, however the fact that you can't die is a big turn off for a lot of people. For me it keeps the frustration levels down (from dying, and the reloading from dying, and backtracking from the reload, rinse, and repeat), and keeps the action constantly moving forward.

Word to the wise: it's better to play this with a game pad such as a 360 one if you have it. I have it on both the 360 and the PC. First thing I noticed is how much more precise the game pad makes things. Also, the PC version has better visuals, and while the game is smooth on the consoles there have been slowdowns in a few hectic jumping sequences that aren't there on the PC version. Since I'm only 1/2 way through the 360 version I might sell it (or give it away), and start over with the PC version.

Sounds like my kind of action/exploration game then!
I went to the local GAME shop but there was no sign of it. When is the UK release date?

Sounds good. I do hope a lot of people buy it. It's certainly a good test. My guess is that lack of DRM will not have a significant effect on either sales or piracy rates. However, I agree that it makes the game more appealing to me (but not enough to rush and buy it; too many old games to play and little time).

Ya right. My thoughts that pirating will be just as high. DRM is just an excuse for pirates to pirate more games without feeling as bad.

Rather that it is a new piece of ammo for them to justify piracy even though they've been pirating for longer than DRM has been around.

I had to go find it, but HERE's an article that I thought is relevant. Take note of the comments by Chris Easton, a community development manager at Ubisoft.

Edit: BTW, just to put this put there, the PC version is $30 (Can.) on average cheaper than the console versions. That's right, folks. You can buy a DRM, copy protection free PoP for $29.99.
