Activision Blizzard claims Call of Duty series is now the best selling FPS of all time

Publisher Activision Blizzard has confirmed that ‘Call of Duty’ has been dropped from the title of Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare 2, suggesting that the series has now definitively been split in two.

I hope the sequel will have a more expanded single player portion.

Actually i am not sure if this is a bad thing altogether(unless they are planning to change the look and feel of the game). COD is and always will be a WWII game series. I guess tho one could argue that, that is the reason they should keep the COD name

The splitting of the series is only a good thing if they keep Treyarch's dirty fingers off the title and leaves it with Infinity Ward forever.

I agree with that, 110%! Why, FFS, does Activision let Treyarch do anything with their games?! Beats the hell out of me!!!!
