Assassin's Creed II

Venice, Italy, the 15th century. In reality this seemingly picturesque town is an overcrowded, plague-ridden pit. A hairy miasma-hole perched on the rudest bit of long-legged Italy's suggestive coastline. You wouldn't go there if you could help it, you'd probably go to the far prettier Florence to do your wine shopping. Sure, there was a Renaissance happening and Senora Vespucci down the way says that hot young thing Da Vinci is zipping about the city streets in a hello-copter - but the place smelled like poo. No amount of culture can waft away a poo smell.

Re: Assassin's Creed II

This sounds like Assassin's Creed meets Thief 4, meets GTA. I like it.

Re: Assassin's Creed II

I love the setting of the game: renaissance Italy. Can't get much better than that.
I hope you'll be able to hide in shadows like in splinter cell. Hiding in the stack of hay got kind of old after a while. From what I've read in this article I think they're making the game less automated (movement and combat) which is good if it's well executed.
In any case, this is right on top of my list too (just below Modern Warfare II).

Yeah, but hiding got old in AC at just about the same time I realized I could just trivially slaughter everyone with counters, and not bother with any kind of stealth.
