The Indie Game Challenge is looking for more entrants into their 2011 event before they close entries on 1 October this year. The contest, which is being sponsored by Gamestop, SMU Guildhall and the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences, is open to almost anyone besides people in US-embargoed countries.
Prospective game developers will have to submit hardcopies of a playable game, a video of the same (also hardcopy) and also a $100 (R722) entry fee in order to be eligible for the final prizes. There are two $100 000 (R722 000) prizes up for grabs as well as a chance to pitch a game to representatives from either Capcom, Electronic Arts, Microsoft, Activision, Nintendo, Sony, THQ or Ubisoft. There are also other prizes available.
