The Saboteur - Review (X360 & PS3) @ GH

Read The Review Here
___________________
The Saboteur is a new third person action game by Pandemic Studios and focuses on the exploits of Sean Devlin, a moody Irishman who has to deal with the Nazi occupation of France. This is a revenge story set during World War II and is actually surprisingly good.

A drinking, smoking hero who just goes around blowing things up? Finally, I don't think we had one of those in ages! I'm not sure how a (stereo)typical Irishman managed to seamlessly blend into the background of French resistance during WW II, but I suppose that the developers handled that somehow. Other than that, the game seems really interesting and I can only ask when it's coming to the PC?

I am interested in this game, I just hope it isn't a second rate port and/or it needs patches now that they have fired most of the studio.

At worst, I will probably get it on sale few months from now.

Very interesting game.

Yeah it's a bit concerning EA has sacked Pandemic Studios before the game has been released, considering it looks to be a great game. I'm picking up my copy Friday, looking forward to it.

Let's hope they at least were given the time to make it pretty much bug free.

Thanks for the review , looks like this game is very much fun.
R.I.P Panamedic.
Anyone going to get this one on the PC , just wait for the reviews , I found most people who played it on Ati cards (even high ends) had freezing issues and other bugs in the game while people with nvidias didn't encounter something like that.

I have played a little and really dont like it the controls are not great and it feels like an unpolished Assasins Creed to me

Although that may also be down to playing this alongside AC 2 .... now thats an awesome game

Interesting and they sacked the studio, so who's going to fix the issue eh?

Is it a WIMTBP game?

i quite like it, but ive only played it for 20 minutes, i like the art style, very stylish - its a little like mafia/gta but thats only my views on an initial run.

As for the ATI issues, I am just after having a chat with ATI on the phone there and they are liasing with EA about this, they are aware of it. Sorry we never reported it in the review even as a side note, but John was using Nvidia hardware for his upcoming PC review as his 4870 is being RMA'd (PC review is hopefully coming up after this one). I have sent him a few cards for the future so we can hopefully report these issues better in the reviews.

Thanks Allan , Good job as always. I hope the "remain" of Panamedic studios at EA can fix it.
I am sick with amount of games released having issues with Ati cards like this one and NFS Shift

its not in the league of mafia no, I havent played it that much, but it seems quite good.

I think the developers of this game were fans of mafia however because the music and the cars and even some of the environmental touches are very reminiscent of Mafia.

I still can't realize how did they finshed the game and didn't try it on Ati cards. Even if they are so lazy the should have played the game on two different cards one from nvidia and the another one from Ati to be sure it will work on both not just releasing something that doesn't work on any Ati GPU .

This is one of the buggiest and most unpolished games I've played in a long time. Some parts were so rediculously bad I couldn't help but laugh. There's just no way this is the finished game, it's more like a beta or a rough developer snapshot.

I'll be watching EA's support with this game very closely, but knowing them I don't expect much.

I'll give a "real" review when EA releases the "real" product.
