R.U.S.E. (Preview) @ GH
R.U.S.E. Preview
______________ Wouldn't it be great if there was a game that recreated the element of surprise at the heart of each conflict, one that would enable players to not only show the understanding of their arsenal but also genuine lateral thinking in the face of something unexpected? That is the premise behind R.U.S.E. It may seem like a familiar rehash of things that have seen before. The World War II setting for example means that almost anyone will be familiar with the units, the setting and the factions. |

Re: R.U.S.E. (Preview) @ GH
I played this thing AI US vs. me US. I took a beating the first game. I was trying to defend my base, while I explored the different build options. I even built an airfield. But that's all it takes to see what is needed to beat the AI. One game. The next six games I had a 700% more kills then my enemy, all I had to do was to build light tanks and to point them in the direction of the enemy base. Any other units and constructions are just a waste of money. If you have enough light tanks, and be fairly quick to attack, the AI is going to lose.
I never tried it against human opponents. Maybe that is my mistake. But the AI games made me not to try. I hope the release game is a lot better, or it will not be a game worth buying. What I liked was the very cool zoom scale. One minute it's a board game, the next you can see detailed battle situations. I only had to use the "board game" approach, so I'm not sure if granular unit control is even necessary.
