Alan Wake (X360) @ GH

Alan Wake Review
________________

Six years in the making with the best part of one of those dedicated almost entirely to fine-tuning, the story behind the game shows in itself how frustrating the creative process can be. However unlike the main character in this game, a writer who is struggling with his latest novel, Remedy have finally put something out there and now must face the anxious wait to see how it’s received by their public.

A friend of mine has been following this game through development and I'm sure he's jumping for gold right now.

I've never quite gone for games in this style but once in a while you gotta just take a leap because I'm sure it's one of those games everyone can enjoy.

am i right in thinking that this is gonna be one of those 'exclusive' 360 titles ??
in other words, no hope of it coming to PC?

cos it really looks like one me and the missus will both love, but fighting to get time on the 360 is just...
(those pesky kids again...!!)

Yeah well this is one of the reasons Microshaft pisses people like me off, Halo was originally suppose to be multiplatform, I don't get why it can't "come out for the pc" as even adding a little DX10/11 to this would make the graphics that much more awesome.

I believe it will come to PC within a year. I will stake someone else's life on this.

Sounds like a good game, but I don't see myself spending all that much money on a single playthrough game.
The game mechanics, including the need to weaken the enemies, sounds very familiar, though I can't pinpoint how and why now.

I think this will be a great game to play over xmas or Winter in general.

Agreed, it's $70 here and that's just too much. I remember Street Fighter for 360 was the same price when it came out and I immediately bought it only to see the price drop drastically a few months later. I expect the same to happen with Alan Wake making it a more appealing purchase this Fall. If this were a movie I would rate it an Oscar caliber drama but worth waiting for the DVD rather than seeing in theaters

Re: Alan Wake (X360) @ GH

I watched part of a Let's Play Alan Wake and even at that low resolution I have to admit the game looked really good (graphics wise). I mean, it looked better than screenshots. I hope it is on classics or something by this Xmas. It feels like a great game for Winter nights.

Hmm, deja vu.
