StarCraft II - Press Day // Preview

StarCraft II is one of the most highly anticipated games of the year and fans of the series have been wishing for it to arrive for almost every day of its eight year development. As such we here at GamingHeaven were naturally delighted to be invited to the pre-launch exhibition in the UK, an event that would provide us with an opportunity to not only learn more about Blizzards long awaited sequel but also to get our hands on some of the single player campaign levels ahead of schedule.

Nice Preview , I am very excited for this game . I just heard some rumours there will be monthly/yearly fees for Battle.net even If you purchased the full game , I hope this ain't right.

I think that's how it's going to work for certain region, but they will also have the option to do a 1 time payment purchase for bnet access even then.

For most of us I don't think we will have anything like that.

I thought more people might be interested in this, I know when I first play Warcraft II on my mac performa I got hooked. When StarCraft arrived it nearly ruined my educative years. hehe.

Ya me too, am also surprised not many people are interested, this has got to be one of those titles that I have been waiting forever for

and am sure its going to be exceptional. My guess is that gamers have been so inundated with FPSes that they forgot that strategy games is where the PC shines

I'd be more interested if they didn't remove the feature I loved most from SC1 - LAN option. I know they did it due to piracy, but there are many legitimate reasons also. They really want everything to go through their battle.net, trying very hard to be like Steam's service.

Not to knock anything off of the game though. I did play the beta, and am glad the big change was really just the units. Improved graphics and audio are nice, but the gameplay is what I fell in love with 10+ years ago with SC1.

@gascieus I hated them so much when they removed the the LAN option that sucked beyond belief

Well at least they didn't remove multiplayer from the game altogether, that would have been even worse. I would be getting this game if I were still gaming, that's for sure.

I just hope that the game does not require a constant internet connection. i am planning on buying the collectors edition and it would really be a turn off if that is the case.

It does require you to stay connected during gameplay @beta.
