World of Warcraft: Cataclysm - Blog Part 2 @ GH

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm - Blog Part 2
____________________________________

In our first blog about Cataclysm we provided an overview of WoW and took a look at some of the new features we can expect from the expansion. In this entry we'll be taking a closer look at the new races that will be made available to play in Cataclysm, the Worgen and the Goblins. We'll look at what these new races bring to their respective factions (Alliance and Horde) and the how Blizzards are introducing these races to us in their starting area storylines.

I'm really excited about Cataclysm!!! I've been waiting for something like this out of Blizzard since patch 1.5 which is when I started my druid that is still my main character.

Re: World of Warcraft: Cataclysm - Blog Part 2 @ GH

I'm looking forward to some of the changes, I'm hoping they slow the leveling down a little bit though. It's maybe two years after Cat comes out before the next exp (maybe less) so make it worth leveling up some. After LK came out and having half my guild to lvl 80 in the first two weeks of it being out have left us bored over the course of the last year and a half. The new raids and zones are always nice to have but I hope they slow it down some. We've had a lot of people quit and come back and then quit again because of how easy everything is now. It really kind of sucks in a way.

Re: World of Warcraft: Cataclysm - Blog Part 2 @ GH

@jandarsun8 I suspect some people will still power level to 85 in a few weeks (or days if they are mental). The time to get from 80 to 85 is supposed to be the same as 70 to 80, however Blizzard just doubled the HP of mobs in the level 80 - 82 zones, so it looks like they are still tinkering with it.

Re: World of Warcraft: Cataclysm - Blog Part 2 @ GH

Like how many hours of gameplay can an experienced player expect 80-85?

I personally find the leveling/instancing in groups before level cap more interesting than endgame raiding.

Re: World of Warcraft: Cataclysm - Blog Part 2 @ GH

@iPlayer Blizzard are still tweaking the XP requirements for the 80 to 85 journey. The new zones are very absorbing and it looks like the story they tell will be awesome. If I had to guess I believe that the final time to get to 80 to land somewhere between 25 to 35hrs of game play.

Of course, getting to 85 is only the start of the fun.

Re: World of Warcraft: Cataclysm - Blog Part 2 @ GH

hmm don't like it. I think they made a mockery of the origins of the true Warcraft Lore when introducing the Draenei and Blood Elfs. Not only that, but they gave each side exactly the same choices in regards to class.

And now the Goblins are horde (what about Booty Bay, is it now hostile to Alliance?) and Worgen a part of Alliance? It's just ridiculous..
