SB Live 5.1 SE Kx installer shutdowns PC

Hello!
I have a Compaq EVO D510 SFF Pc with Sb Live 5.1 SE, 256 RAM, latest Directx drivers, and Windows Xp professional. I bought the sound card today, and tried to install the 3537 kx driver, but the system restarted at once, as I started the setup... With the Windows's original drivers, the card worked, and the kx setup started, but didn't installed the drivers... I tried all the olders and the newest too... the 3538 gave an error message, that kx not works with my card, but there is EMU 10k1 chipset in the card...
I tried after windows reinstall, but the problem was constant,
So what should I do?
Thanks for the further answers!
John

Do you know the specific model number? i.e. SB0xxx

If it is the OEM Dell version, it is not supported by kX.

That is not an SB Live! model. Get your money back, if you can.

BTW: Take a look at the chip on that card, and see if it looks like the chip on this fake SB Live! 5.1 card (from another post in this forum). The chip in the picture is really an ESS chip. Note that it is rectangular (the EMU10k1 chip is square), and smaller than the EMU chip.
