DigitalOutput does not work anymore after KX
Hi!
I have a SB0220 SB Live 5.1 I installed the creative drivers and everything worked ok. But after I installed the kx drivers I am not able to hear any sound over the digital coax cable. I tried every combination in the mixer settings of kx but no luck. Any idea? |

What version of kX are you using?
Which digital output doesn't work? What type of signal are you trying to play (AC3 passthru is currently not supported)? Make sure DOO mode is enabled in kxmixer. |

Digital Output only is switched on. I am using a 3.5 mm cable to coax on my Logitech Z680. I worked befor I installed your driver. There was a little checkbox in the creative mixer settings where I coudl switch between Digital Output and normal output. My small speakes are connected to the normal green output and the z680 coax to the pink one on the far right.
Any idea? |

You did not mention which version of kX you are using. Different versions of kX have different levels of support for different SB022x cards (and they are not fully supported as of yet). You should probably use kX version 3538j.
Additionally, I know nothing about the Z680 speaker system. Is the plug that is connected to the sound card (I assume you mean the orange jack, and not pink) a 4 pole plug, or a mono plug? If it is mono, than you will only get stereo sound (again AC3 Passthru is not currently supported with kX and your card). Do you know the specific model number of your card (from the serial number and not the writing on the card's pc-board)? |

I use the lastest drivers on your page: 3537
And here we go: http://marctv.de/foren/kx/1.jpg http://marctv.de/foren/kx/2.jpg http://marctv.de/foren/kx/3.jpg |

try upgrading to 3538j (links in this forum)
that version will better support your card model (sb022x)

From the serial number on your sticker: MSSB0220240645418
It looks like it is in fact a SB0220 (which I think might be the Soundblaster Live Player 5.1, but I am not sure). Also, as dj_stick indicated, you should use kX 3538j (the download link is in the '3538j Released' thread in this forum). |

Have you looked at the cable, to see if it uses a 4 conductor plug, at the end that connects to the digital jack (orange) on the sound card, as of yet?
A 4 conductor plug would look like this: http://ask.americas.creative.com/wwi...oundcard19.jpg Last edited by Russ; Mar 8, 2006 at 12:17 PM. Reason: typo |

I hear Music through the normal green jack when I switch DOO off but on the orange jack I don't habe any digital sound. Its a normal 3.5 mm Cable with cinch (coax) at the other end which is pluged in my Receiver of my Z680. It worked this way with the creative drivers without toching any hardware. Or does the digital signal come from another jack in your drivers? |

FINALLY FIXED!
I used a 3.5 mm cable going from the orange jack of the SB220 to the Z680 which had two coax jacks at the other hand (stereo). I pluged the RED Coax in the z680's digital input. This was ok with the creative drivers! But with your drivers I had to plug in the WHITE Coax in the Receiver of the z680! http://marctv.de/foren/kx/4.jpg This works! I had the red one in it. Thanx for your support and patience! =) |

Ahh, ok. It sounds like it is a stereo connector.
If you go into Settings -> Driver compatibility, and enable the SB022x Hack option, then I think that the other connector will work as well (if you could test that, it would be helpful), but I think you will also lose analog rear (just disable that option after testing). BTW: With a stereo connector, White would be digital Front, and Red would be the digital Rear (I would think that should have given you some problems with the CL drivers under certain settings) Last edited by Russ; Mar 8, 2006 at 12:50 PM. |

with a TRS minijack to RCA cable
white would be stereo front red would be stereo rear and yellow (camcorder cable ONLY) would be centre/sub
