Weak amplifier on rear output than front output in sb0240

When i conect headphones to front output in my sb0240 i can hear loudly music without distortion, but i connect headphones to rear output and iam enlarge volume sound is distorted.
It is possible that this card have different operative amplifier on output front and rear?? weak on rear and stronger on frond output??

IIRC ALL SBLives use a different codec for rear than fronts - which in KX are reversed - so, yes this sounds like normal - but I cant say I hear such a drastic difference between the front and rear on my Live..?? But then again, it seems CL has used several different codecs over time.

SB0240 happens to be Audigy 2 Platinum series cards.

When you say front - do you mean front speaker outputs?
Or Front as in front panel headphone output (from a LiveDrive??)

But, LiveDrive headphone outputs are WAY hotter than the card outputs.

also, I think some A2's also have 2 different codecs like the Lives. So if your comparing Front & Rear speaker outputs - then still - yes, some quality differences will exist, but I wonder if your playback source is irritating this fact (low volume, crappy recorded MP3 for instance??)

System Specs

the front output on the card is also designed for headphones
the rear output does not have that design, and so will sound distorted when loaded with headphones, rather than a line level device

I have SB0244 here, installed on my surfing PC --> no such issues. Both front/rear outputs are equal - I can't hear differences w/ headphones or when connected to Hi-Fi system. The headphone output found from Properiatry connector is same (I'm using this output when not outputting through headphone amplifier).

Which player are you using --> have you tried if this issue of yours appears when using ASIO (or WDM/KS) driver mode (winamp+asio plugin, foobar+asio plugin, beatport player, etc.).

As dj_stick mentioned, those outputs may be realized in different way (like connection impedance/voltage, etc).

Also, have you set HW acceleration to MAX (or lower settings if already maxed), and also, have tried by setting Main -volume to MAX and control the output level using Wave slider (this should give the maximum HW acceleration for Audio ?? Isn't the main volume the accelerated one).
