Multi output mp3 / wav players
Does anyone know of any audio software (not a multitrack) the has several players in it for mp3s / waves.
HTML Code:
http://www.broadcastscience.nl/en/jinglebox.htm These guys do a product that is ok, im just wondering if anyone know of anything else. jinglebox linked above, is good but only plays wav files not mp3's and the 3flex is another option but dosnt support more than one output from a sound card. the ability to map keys of my choice to the play button for each would be good too. then i can use a keyboard hack box i have to simulate certian button pushes and have a real trigger button for each player. ohh drag and drop playing would be nice too.

I do not know a lot about it, but J. River MEDIA CENTER seems to be a popular choice.

Again, I do not know a lot about it, but most of the info I have heard about it, is in relation to multi-zone audio.
i.e. You can send different audio to different zones, and each zone can be configured to ouput to a different device (i.e. different sound card, or different audio port on the same sound card, etc.). |

Native Instruments TRAKTOR DJ Studio 3 Pro has 4 decks + monitoring, which all you can output to a different output channels found from your sound card and play simultaenously with different sources played (this is normally enough for DJ working),
... the software behind the link (jingle box) can output to several different cards too --> you can have say 16 jinglebox players playing different sources simultaenously when 4 sound cards are installed into your system (this software is meant for broadcasting). jiitee Last edited by jiiteepee; Mar 18, 2006 at 08:57 AM. |

You can do it by selecting the External Mixer Mode on Output routing.

Well, I use Creative drivers w/ this Audigy 2 setup on my surfing PC and this is just a demo version of TRAKTOR 3 (I think it expires quite soon
).My setup is normally meant output to headphones and to hi-fi system simultaenously using two different sources (decks). It's set up using ASIO drivers. --> DirectSound drivers (DS SB Audigy 2 Audio [xxxx]) --> 4 mono outputs listed --> deck A outputs to DS1&2 deck B (or preview) outputs to DS 3&4. Speakers are set to 4/4.1. --> Creative ASIO / SB Audigy Asio [xxxx] --> all possible output channels listed (Augigy 2 is a 6.1 card so 3 analog output channels is max) --> deck A outputs to Front L/R, deck B outputs to Rear L/R and if I need to set the preview too it is listened through Center/Sub. Speakers are set to 4/4.1 or 6/6.1 (when preview is used). http://img125.imageshack.us/img125/3057/ntsetup10dz.jpg http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/6634/nisetup25sd.jpg If you like to output all 4 decks to just one device (like power amp + speaker system or to active speaker system, etc.) and like to preview using headphones, the set up can be #1 - set all decks output through ASIO Wave L/R (or ASIO Front L/R) and set preview to Rear L/R #2 - set all decks output through ASIO Rear L/R and set preview to Front L/R NOTE: The previewing is done by hitting the "headphones" icon found on every title row in track list. jiitee Last edited by jiiteepee; Mar 20, 2006 at 09:10 AM. |

So do I too, get only the DS (Direct Sound) driver listed as non ASIO driver.
Pops and clicks can be caused by the hardware components you have there, like a SATA controller (some SATA controllers are quite common issue with most audio cards). Also, have you decreased the PCI latency for graphics card and increased for sound card (just google using 'PCI Latency Tool' to get the utility you can set it with). Bigger PCI latency value gives more CPU time for the device/controller. Also, you seem to have mixed driver set there (Creative ASIO drivers and kX drivers). Have you tried both kX ASIO and SB Audigy 2 ASIO [xxxx] (not the 24/96)? Remember, 16-bit ASIO is locked to 48 kHz. You may also try to increase the ASIO latency (try 50 - 100 ms) to get rid of pops/clicks (on playback, the latency is not needed to be set as low as possible). jiitee Last edited by jiiteepee; Mar 20, 2006 at 01:00 PM. |

for some reason the creative ones are listed but no driver exists (i shoudl edit that out really)
when u say the 16 bit ASIO is locked to 48k, does that mean it wont run at 44.1 properly, or i just cant go above 48k. i know ive seen that in a post somewhere, but i couldnt find it . on my computer at home i have Sata drives and ive put the latency to 69ms and it seems fine. with the same SB card at work with a 96ms latency there is still lots of clicks happening. ive even copied my *.kx file over too. i suspect that the IT police at work have several things running on all the computers there. ill see if i have enough admin rights tomorrow to ajust the pci latency settings

Download, extract (no need to install) and run ASIOCaps - http://otachan.com/ASIO%20caps_009.7z ASIOCaps tells you which resolutions your card/driver supports with ASIO drivers. Also, you can set the ASIO latency with the utility too. I do not know the ASIO panel options on kX, but Creative drivers allows you to set the latency up to 500 ms. Just wondering, if you need to set latency as high as 69 ms or more --> I can use 2ms without issues when not surfing the internet and when set to 5-10 ms, everything works well on any case --> lower you set the ASIO latency, more it demands from your CPU. Not only the PCI latency, but IRQ sharing, wireless network, even the enviroment your PC is placed, etc. can cause those pops and clicks. Since you seem not to be a dedicated gamer, you can set the PCI latencies for - sound card to 64 or 128 (this is set normally to 32 by the BIOS settings) - graphics gard to 64 (or 128 if starts giving issues with 64) (this is set normally to 248-255 by the graphics driver --> real CPU time hog) jiitee |
